Dear friends!
Everyone knows that reading the Bible may raise a lot of questions. It is not always easy to find an answer yourself. We contribute by posting answers to most frequently asked questions - so it's possible that the quesion you are asking has already been asnwered here.
How can we understand the meaning of love described in 1st Corinthians 13, how can someone use it in life?
Talking about love in the 13th chapter of the First Epistle to the Corinthians, Apostle Paul speaks in essence about the Lord Jesus Christ. The apostle describes such a love which can be hardly met in people. Our love corresponds in most cases only partly to some characteristics given by the apostle. But Christ showed us just this very love and this is God’s love to us. However God summoned us to love each other as He loves us. We need the Lord Jesus Christ to do this, for our love to correspond Apostle Paul’s description. We cannot love like this by ourselves – but if we want and ask this, God comes into our lives and fills our sickish love with His strength. Thus, our efforts should be turned to loving like apostle Paul described and our faith and prayer should be turned to Christ, to let Him fill our yearning and make it real. Furthermore, the love written by Apostle Paul is a gift from the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit comes to a human’s heart and operates inside when this human loves Christ and commune with him.
